For decades, Mair's Continental Motors has provided a unique Pre-Purchase Inspection service custom tailored to your concerns as well as year, make and model focused. Since 1975, We've bought, sold, inspected and appraised countless vehicles, and with our extensive list of tools, information and price guide services and expertise, few have the capability to provide a thorough and comprehensive examination of any vehicle. We offer everything from a simple walk-around and test drive to a detailed on-lift inspection with full computer module interrogations, paint thickness measurements and hidden body damage checks, along with a vehicle history report when possible. In some instances we may be allowed to remove covers or panels for better visual access or perform engine compression tests, electrical tests or more thorough and lengthy test drives. We search for past flood, hail, rodent and other environmental damage, signs of neglect and abuse, as well as attempts to hide expensive issues such as fluid leaks, accident damage or rust and corrosion.
Starting with a phone call and consultation, we take care of all the arrangements for the inspection date and time, and will complete multiple phone calls with you during and after the inspection. For clients wishing to have a vehicle inspected at the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown Pa, and many other consignors and dealers, the three parts to our service is a thorough inside/outside inspection, an on-lift inspection and as meaningful of a test drive as allowed. An as-long-as-needed phone call at the conclusion of our inspection will reveal an incredible amount of information to help confirm your purchase decision immediately. No need to wait days or more for a written report like other inspection outfits. Something else the others won’t do, I’m here to help with storage, repair, detailing and shipping logistics after the sale. Our pricing is based on the level of scrutiny our clients request. Bringing the vehicle to us for a walk around, general under hood and inside look, a test drive and consultation starts at only $99. On lift, longer test drives and a thorough inspection, paint thickness tests, module scans etc. are priced accordingly and fairly.
We do have a set PPI price of only $349 for any inspection done at the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pa. McGinty Motorcars in Reading, Pa. and Manheim Auto Auction in Manheim, Pa. That includes round trip travel time, all the services noted in the section above plus our paint thickness inspection service on metal bodied vehicles and a basic engine control module scan for 1996 and newer vehicles.
I've been hired to fly 2800 miles away to Long Beach California for a client with a large collection wishing to acquire two British cars he wished to have in his inventory and the following month I drove to Upstate New York to look at a rare Audi Ur Quattro. The bulk of my inspections are within an hour or two of my shop in Eastern Pa, but I am available for inspections anywhere. Inquire for scheduling and pricing.
Optional services also include a complimentary written report in paragraph form so long as the vehicle was purchased and we are notified within 7 days of the PPI. We also take pictures of any major trouble areas and text or email them to you. Video highlights will be available in the coming months. For late model car inspections, for a reasonable fee we offer module interrogations for trouble codes and faults in any module we can read. We use an up to date Autel MaxiSys 908i scan tool or Vag-Com for our VW/Audi inspections. Detailing/clean up services, short or long term climate controlled storage, local or long distance hauling and aligning repair needs with specialists in the area are things I can assist with.

We do not verify if the mileage shown on the odometer is original or accurate nor can we ensure the vehicle title and it supporting documents are accurate or legitimate.
